EMI internships are available for any engineering or architecture student that has completed at least their junior year in college. As mentioned, EMI's work is primarily completed in the discipline of civil engineering and architecture. Those applying of other disciplines are accepted understanding that they may not complete work in their discipline. Also, priority in accepting interns of other engineering disciplines is lower than that of civil engineers, architects, and structural engineers. 

Even with this being said, we have accepted several interns from other disciplines. They still come away with a valuable experience as long as they have come to EMI with servant hearts and open minds.
