Favor of God Ministries, House of Hope

Since 2005, Favor of God Ministires’ (FOGM) staff have been dedicated to working in Northern Uganda to bring unity among the local church leaders, establishing prayer houses throughout the region and in the various internally displaced persons (IDP) camps, providing trauma counseling to those affected by the war, bringing portable Bible schools to the IDP camps, running the New Life Bible College, university campus ministry, prison ministry, and the distribution of clothing, food and other basic needs to people who lack access to them.

In March 2006, FOGM started a children’s home called House of Hope with the admission of four sisters from a child-headed household who were referred to FOGM by World Vision. The home is for those children who have been most affected by the twenty-year conflict in the region.

The vision of the House of Hope is to open a home-based children’s facility where children’s emotional, spiritual, social, medical, and academic needs can be addressed and met. FOGM provides a nurturing and healing environment in a family setting, targeting first of all, three categories of children: 1) war affected children, 2) total orphans, and 3) those born in captivity and rescued.  The goal of the House of Hope is to see these children heal emotionally, physically, and spiritually and thereby becoming both productive members of society and spiritual and community leaders of their generation.

eMi EA worked with FOGM to develop a master plan that includes most of the building plans for the site development so that the above objectives can be met. The master plan includes the children’s village clusters, multipurpose hall and kitchen, House of Hope administration offices and clinic, classrooms, school administration offices and library.
