Project Scope

Throughout the past 15 years, Safe Harbor projects have reached millions of lives with the gospel of Jesus Christ in several countries around the world including Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Sudan, Uganda, Kenya, Nicaragua, Vietnam, Romania and the United States. Historically, Safe Harbor has focused efforts on evangelism and relief work, with an emphasis on serving people groups in East Africa whose lives have been devastated by civil war and disease. This has been accomplished through ministry, medical relief, food, water and sanitation services, primarily in Southern Sudan, Darfur and Northwest Uganda. During the past decade, Safe Harbor’s framework for serving the poor has undergone significant change in shifting efforts away from relief and towards long-term development, as a critical focus for evangelism and discipleship.  This development focus has emerged through Safe Harbor’s fruitful implementation of ministry and services in the Muslim dominated region of Northwest Uganda (Project Midigo).

Project Safe Harbor Midigo includes 4 areas of emphasis: Church Ministry (Calvary Chapel Midigo) hospital (Midigo Hospital), education and agriculture. Each of these emphases are directed and supported by Safe Harbor International. Safe Harbor has obtained 90 acres of land which will empower them to increase their outreach to the local people through income generating agriculture activities and training. Their goal is to provide a working farm and training center that will focus on agricultural production and processing while also assisting in funding the church ministry, hospital and primary school.

Safe Harbor International has set out to be the hands of Christ reaching out to the physically and spiritually poor in Africa.

Please consider joining our team and use your talents and abilities to have an eternal impact on the lives of the people in Uganda.
