Project Scope
There are two main goals with our second annual Construction Management exploratory trip to Uganda. The first is to see and experience construction management in East Africa first-hand. This will be done by visiting locations in Uganda where EMI has mobilized a construction manager and spending time on site observing local methods and management practices (maybe even getting our hands dirty mixing a little concrete). Current and former EMI construction managers will also be on hand to answer questions and share about their experiences.
The second goal of the trip is to visit potential construction sites and meet with the ministry contacts involved to see the needs our ministry partners have for qualified construction managers. Our prayer is that through this trip some will feel God leading them to take the next step towards a long term (1+ year) commitment to work full time as a construction manager in East Africa.
Interested volunteers are welcome from all backgrounds and disciplines within the design and construction industry. This trip is exploratory - no long term commitment is required to participate, simply a willingness to see where God may be leading you, and a desire to further understand the workings of EMI’s Construction Management Program. Come see and experience first-hand the building of God’s Kingdom here in East Africa.
